Secretary of State Wayne Williams Announces Democrats for Wayne

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Oct. 11, 2018) – Colorado Secretary of State Wayne Williams, the Republican nominee for re-election in 2018, released the following statement announcing the Democrats for Wayne Coalition:

“I am the only candidate for Secretary of State who understands that there is nothing partisan about running clean elections and making it easy for Coloradans to start new businesses,” said Secretary of State Wayne Williams. “While other candidates for the office might aim to turn the Colorado Secretary of State’s office into a hyper-partisan office that only seeks to serve one political party or agenda, I understand the necessity to serve all Coloradans fairly and equally. That is why my re-election is being endorsed by people across the political spectrum, including Republican, Democratic and unaffiliated voters and elected leaders alike. They know I am the principled leader they can trust.”

The Democrats for Wayne Coalition leadership includes several prominent Colorado Democrats:

Current Democrat County Clerk & Recorders: Sharon Sisnroy, Otero County “Wayne is one of the best secretaries of state we’ve had in the 43 years I’ve worked in the clerk’s office. It doesn’t matter that he’s a Republican and I’m a Democrat. In this part of the state, it’s people over politics and that’s why I’m endorsing him.”

Patti Nickell, Bent County “I am totally supporting Wayne. As for as working with the clerks, he is just the best.”

Karen Garcia, Costilla County Nancy Cruz, Huerfano County Peach Vigil, Las Animas County Kim Bonner, Routt County
