Jamie Giellis for Denver, Candidate for Denver Mayor, Announces Fundraising Totals

Denver, Colo. (January 7, 2019) – First-time candidate for Mayor of Denver and neighborhood organizer, Jamie Giellis for Denver, announced today that it has raised $260,276.20 since entering the Denver mayoral race on Nov., 2018. Included in the total is a personal loan to the campaign of $50,000. As of the end of the reporting period, she has $212,586.58 cash on hand.

“This is a critical moment for Denver – the recent significant growth of the city has torn apart the fabric of our neighborhoods and challenged quality of life for our citizens. The people of Denver are disconnected from its leadership and their voice has been disregarded as the city has changed,” said Giellis. “I am running for mayor because I believe this city can and must do better for its people. We need to be bold in our decisions to ensure this is a Denver for every generation. And we need a leader who can help the citizens reclaim their city and do together what they cannot do alone. A bold, visionary and ethical leader is needed now.”

Giellis raised campaign funds from more than 140 donors. A full report of donations and expenditures will be available on Jan. 15, 2019, when it will be filed with the Denver Election Commission.

“I am humbled by the overwhelming support I have received from people across the city. People are ready for leadership that listens to the community and is willing to find solutions to some of our hardest and most complicated issues” Giellis said.
