Representative Polly Lawrence Announces Q3 Fundraising Totals

LITTLETON, CO (October 6, 2017) – Today, state Representative Polly Lawrence (R-Douglas and Teller Counties) announced that she raised more than $90,000 during her first quarter in the state Treasurer’s race.

“I am humbled by the support I’ve received since entering the Treasurer’s race in early July,” said Rep. Lawrence. “People have opened their homes, their businesses and their wallets to help me bring my message of transparency and accountability to the four corners of Colorado.”

Lawrence has highlighted three areas where she will focus her efforts to make state finances more transparent and accountable:

  • Fight to stop the year-end-spend
  • Reform the Public Employees Retirement System (PERA)
  • Lock the revolving door that allows certain state employees to game the system

The pending October 16th report is for the period between July 1st and September 30th. It is Lawrence’s first report since entering the Treasurer’s race on July 11th. Since launching her campaign in Mesa County, she has been on the road, crisscrossing the state and meeting with Colorado voters.

“Polly’s been unstoppable. She’s always on the road visiting with Coloradans and listening to their concerns,” shared Sara Boyd, Lawrence’s campaign manager. “Watching her connect with people at each of these events, in living rooms and across dinner tables, I am not the least bit surprised by the strength of her fundraising numbers.”

In addition to shattering the current fundraising totals of her Republican and Democratic opponents, Lawrence has bolstered her reputation as someone who is fiercely independent, ready to fight, and willing to take on big challenges that demand big solutions.

“It’s clear that the people she meets appreciate her honesty, candor, independence, and real-world experience. These folks know that Polly isn’t just a candidate, people like that she’s the real deal when they’re visiting together,” added Boyd.

The two Republican candidates who filed Q2 numbers in July reported $17,655 and $20,348. The Democratic candidate who filed Q2 numbers in July reported $13,564 raised.

“Our first quarter in this race has been amazing and I’ve enjoyed every minute of it. I look forward to my continued travels across Colorado and to meeting many, many more people who are passionate about the future of our state,” concluded Lawrence.
