LAKEWOOD, Colo. (August 9, 2017) – George Brauchler, District Attorney for Arapahoe, Douglas, Elbert and Lincoln counties and Republican candidate for governor, released the following statement announcing the members of the George Brauchler for Governor Finance Committee:

“I am not one of the many millionaire self-funders in this race,” said Brauchler. “I cannot just scratch out a check and expect to buy the governorship. It’s not for sale. I am the grassroots candidate who will earn the privilege and responsibility of serving my home state handshake to handshake, backyard BBQ to backyard BBQ, meeting Coloradans all over our state and answering their questions and hearing about their concerns. As I travel across the state, the gas to fill up the family van costs money, that’s why I’m proud of the diverse and strong campaign finance committee that has joined me in this effort.”

Members of the George Brauchler for Governor Finance Team include:

Tanis and Lou Hutchison, Co-chair
Mary Margaret and Gary Wright, Co-Chair
Diane and Harold Smethills, Co-Chair
Brad Coors
Amy and Chris Dorsey
Linda and Rick Enstrom
Steve Foster
Kim Haarberg
David Mandarich

George Brauchler reported $190,696 raised from 673 unique donors during the second quarter of 2017, with an impressive 95.4% of donors and 91.2% of all funds raised coming from within the state of Colorado. To date, Brauchler has received contributions from every one of Colorado’s 64 counties.

“I am determined to prove that a kid from middle-class Lakewood can work his way up to the highest office in the state,” said Brauchler.

Brauchler serves a colonel in the Colorado Army National Guard. Before transferring to the National Guard in 2015, Brauchler was an officer in the U.S. Army Reserve, where he was mobilized twice post-9/11, and served as the Chief of Military Justice for Fort Carson, and ultimately, the US Division-North, 4th Infantry Division, Taskforce Ironhorse in Tikrit, Iraq. Upon returning from Iraq, Brauchler was elected district attorney of the 18th Judicial District in 2012.
