Boulder, CO (October 15, 2018) – KGNU is winding down its year-long celebration of 40 years on the air, but not before a special event with Noam Chomsky.
Noam Chomsky, considered by many to be America’s greatest intellectual and “the father of modern linguistics” joins KGNU for a SKYPE event on Friday, November 9. Chomsky has been a leading voice for peace and social justice for decades, and this audience participation event three days after the November 6th election promises to be insightful. The event will be held at Boulder’s Unity Church beginning at 7 p.m.
World-renowned author and speaker Noam Chomsky will Skype into Boulder for an exclusive talk regarding the outcome of the 2018 midterm elections and what the election reveals about our future.
Chomsky is one of the most-cited scholars in history. He has influenced a broad array of academic fields and is widely recognized as a paradigm-shifter who sparked a major revolution in the field of linguistics. Noam Chomsky’s ideas have proved significant within the anti-capitalist and anti-imperialist movements. Following his opposition to U.S. wars in Indochina and multiple arrests for his activism, Chomsky was placed on then-President Nixon’s enemies list.
Following Chomsky’s Skype appearance, David Barsamian of Alternative Radio will moderate a Q & A session.
The Boulder Bookstore will be selling Chomsky’s books at the event.
Suggested Donation: $15; Students and Seniors: $5. All proceeds to benefit KGNU Community Radio.
